Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update Hegedus Andras 4/3/11 2:07 AM Same problem here, with stock Gingerbread (2.3.3) on a non-rooted Nexus One. Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update jropal987 4/3/11 9:28 AM MrEvan and other Google folks working on this, There doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency on Google's part in getting a bug fix update out for this problem.  In fact, there doesn't seem to be any evidence that Google thinks this matter is important
Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update AdilC 4/3/11 1:16 PM Hello everyone, I've reported an issue with the gps which i think is also related to this problem in the Android Open Handset Alliance Project.  This is the open source project for android and problems reported there may get fixed and incorporated in
Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update z6 4/4/11 2:37 PM I'm quite surprised that there hasn't been a bug fix yet to address this problem, especially since it seems that the problem was found and replicated. Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update s.illes79 4/20/11 1:11 PM No way it's a hardware problem, tell u why: With Froyo I never had this problem, once upgraded to GB i had this problem. I went back to Froyo and don't have this problem.I'm 100% sure it's a software issue.
Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update OsamaBinRappin 4/20/11 1:13 PM @s.illes79 how did you go back to froyo?
Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update s.illes79 4/20/11 1:15 PM I rooted my phone and installed Cynagenmod 6 ( which is based on 2.2 Froyo)Highly recommend to everyone, but DON'T go for CM 7 it has the same problem since it's built on top of GB.

Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update OsamaBinRappin 4/21/11 11:57 AM Hey...I created this post. This is definitely a hardware issue for Nexus One phone's. Not Nexus S phones. Post in the correct forum please.
Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update alzakx 4/21/11 12:14 PM It is no hardware issue on the Nexus One. I had mine with 2.3.3 and GPS was working perfectly. Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update OsamaBinRappin 4/21/11 12:16 PM @ Alzakx....My fault....I meant Software problem. Lol.
Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update alzakx 4/21/11 2:05 PM @OsamaBinRappin yep, totally agree, software problem on the Nexus One -- possible software+crappy Samsung hardware on the Nexus S.

Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update alzakx 4/22/11 6:35 PM Well, Google said to be monitoring this thread for feedback, we Nexus S users need the fix too so I think is convenient to raise our voices here too. Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update nyijedi 4/22/11 6:41 PM Edit  With all due respect, it's pretty obvious that this is a software problem related to Gingerbread and is not specific to the N1. Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update raticus76 4/22/11 6:48 PM I don't mean to be an ass, but the problem is probably happening due to a kernel interface problem with the HTC hardware. Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update JPH3 4/22/11 6:49 PM No biggie. I just posted in the NS thread with the same problem. I think the NS may also have a HW issue in addition to the GB problem, so maybe it's a good idea. If Google feels the two threads are redundant, they'll just merge them anyway.
Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update raticus76 4/22/11 7:02 PM @JPH3 you are correct. If the issue is the same, then Google will correct it at the same time. But they haven't merged these threads yet, which indicates the issuses are probably not the same. Damn, I have a feeling I'm going to spend my weekend dig

Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update clintonhallahan 4/26/11 12:06 PM Same problem here. Nexus S in Canada, 2.3.3, location services can't get a lock with under 1000 meters of accuracy. Obviously this eliminates any navigation efficacy. Broken, fix soon? That would be super.

Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update nyijedi 4/28/11 6:47 AM I didn't want to say anything until I tested it out a little more, but I've had Cyanogenmod 7 installed since Monday, and from my limited testing, it does indeed seem like they fixed the GPS locking problem that I was having with stock Gingerbread.
Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update Itamir 4/28/11 6:52 AM Well, I tested with CyanogenMod 7.0.2 and GPS didn't work.It seems that it´s a kernel problem. So, once CyanogenMod is built on Gingerbread... same problem.

Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update Kamil Trebunia 6/13/11 10:33 AM I think I have a clue for Google developers. Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update rmcd 6/28/11 6:49 PM I agree with Raticus76 and Kornball that GPS lock on an N1 under 2.3.4 is pretty quick using GPS Status, not so quick ( or non-existent) using Google maps. Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update e30ernest 10/12/11 2:04 AM Such battery performance means you have a misbehaving app somewhere.  My Nexus S charges from 10%-97% in just a few hours and I can get 17 hours battery life with moderate usage, 8 hours with pretty heavy usage.
Re: GPS Navigation problems after Gingerbread update DorkBot 10/12/11 10:42 AM I have a Nexus S, the GP3 works perfectly, the compas is as accurate as my wife's iPhone 4.  My wife prefers to use my Nexus S for navigation when we are in the car, she prefers it over her iPhone 4.  I get about 8 hours of battery life for heavy use
