Please do nott take google latitude away. We have choices as well as you do and the day it goes,f or many of us, so does google. So sorry, this is not a threat. So many of us depend on google latitude and you arbtitrarly tell us that in a month you removing it? Enough of us have enough power all together to make Microsoft very happy indeed.
jCPenney's Yahoo, Border's, homelless silicone valley former millionaires, unemployment lines - want more?? You are NOT immune to mucking up w disastrious results. You seem to be going in that direction. Don't let the Suits who are out of touch w needs of everyday people make these disastrious mistakes.

Chalk up another unhappy user. I use latitude on a daily basis. Yes, I managed before it existed, but I have come to depend on it. Believe it or not, it helps me with my dinner planning. My husband has a 40-mile commute to and from work. I can track his progress and have dinner ready when he gets home. Critical, no. Very helpful, yes. Also, it helps me when he is on business trips to know where he is. No-not spying, just when it's a good time to call so I don't interrupt his work.
We all have our different reasons for using latitude. It's also great when a group is traveling together in separate vehicles. If we have latitude turned on, we can keep up with each other.
Please reconsider your decision. Not everyone wants to use Google+. Latitude works!!!

This means the two google products I use the most(iGoogle and latitude) are being killed. Calling Google + a replacement shows that Google doesn't get it. We do not want to go into a social networking program and go through extra steps to see something we look at so often.
This is also a shot against 'cloud' programs and services. What else will disappear that we come to depend on?
Fortunately there are companies committed to this space. I have switched to life360(app for android or iPhone) for my family and Glympse for connecting with friends. Life360 is adding circles this summer so you can have various levels of sharing and everyone doesn't have to be 'Family'. It does family better than Latitude.

I agree I don't want to have to go through google + to use latitude. I've been trying to get it to work and I can't even get the same functionality that I had in latitude...

What are you thinking Google are you insane? I would sack the person that made that call and go back to latitude. I used it all the time with family and friends and it was really getting good. Half the usability has gone from locations and it doesn't give you all the information you need. Google you might as well go and stick you're head in a blender more use to us thanks for nothing. You probably got in a lean manufacturing team to help streamline your company and all they have done and like where I work is f***** everything up well done.
