Hello Google Maps Community,
We've recently launched an update to Google Maps for iPhone. With this release, we’re expanding the English version of the app to seven new countries: Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. We’ve also added quick search for local places, the ability to search for addresses in your Google Contacts by name and you can now choose between kilometers or miles for your preferred distance units.

If you have feedback, let us know directly through the app!

Nice, but why didn't you include the ability to search addresses stored in the local address book?! Would be much more helpful

Great point Marcel.

Great point. It's good, but would be a lot more functional with the ability to search addresses stored in the local address book. Plus, I'd like the ability to save in offline mode, like you can do on the android version. And last, but not least, I'd really love it if Google Maps had the speedlimit/speedometer function of other leading smartphone navigation apps.

The other requests are valuable, but first I'd just like to search using my gmail contacts which doesn't seem to work on my iPad or iPhone. Where are detailed instructions and troubleshooting help?
