i use a shared computer and don't want others to be able to view my email. when i sign into Gmail i only have to type the first letter of my name (email address) and both my user name and password will automatically prefill.
i want to make sure that my password has to be entered every time i sign into gmail.com.
can someone please help? thank you :)

Remembering your username and password is a function of your browser, not GMail.
You don't say which one you use. You will need to go into its settings and remove your GMail password, which at some point in the past you have chosen to save. In Chrome and Firefox it's easy. In IE it isn't.

wdurham is right in that if you see your password prefilled in the Gmail sign-in screen, this is something your browser has saved. You can take a look at the Help Center article in the references below to adjust your browser to not save your password.
