Somewhat annoying since I don't need a million sale-...@craigslist.org entries clogging up the contact manager.  To be honest it drives me absolutely bonkers.  P
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up martin23 7/24/09 1:53 AM Yes please! I heard there was a way to show only the contacts in the "all contacts" group which are NOT in the "my contacts" group too. Could someone please share how to do this?

Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up GordyM 7/31/09 8:40 AM I would welcome any kind of way to better manage my contacts. The Google interface is just..... "ok" it is not great. I hope to find something more robust like MS Outlooks contact manager.
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up mcgleung 8/11/09 6:40 AM I am having a crazy time with my contact list as well.  Why can't there be a list of the contacts that aren't "my contacts" so it would be the extra contacts in the "all contacts" list that isn't in "my contacts"  that way it can be easy to identify
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up ajgs 8/11/09 6:50 AM Again where this issues stands for me: 1. Used to be able to place a space in the search box, this would return every contact as well as show their groups.  This no longer works and in general search box behavior seems screwy. 2. As a result no long
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up ajgs 10/1/09 3:03 PM It seems the ability to search in the contacts manager by placing a " " [literally a space] will once again return everyone in contacts, in any group, my, custom, or all.  Once again I can scroll to the bottom and find the offending email address tha
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up morales.rosi 10/1/09 4:32 PM I totally agree... I would love a better search in the contacts manager... there should be an option to find the contacts that are not in "my" contacts but that already appear to be in "other" contacts automatically!! Please, Gmail team, you are so g
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up Paddy Landau 10/12/09 1:52 AM Further to this, is there any way to find contacts that are NOT in any specific group, i.e. all those groups listed below "My Contacts" and above "All Contacts"?

Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up smardush 11/5/09 3:30 AM Besides the visible predefined groups: My contacts, Friends, Co-Workers, All Contacts and Most Contacted, there is another invisible predfined group: Other Contacts which can be made visible by first highlighting All Contacts and then putting a space

Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up dmstarr 2/9/10 8:50 PM I have a naive question and my eyes are totally glazed over after searching the forums for various contacts/gmail/sync/nexus/buzz etc. posts: Why is there a My Contacts and an All Contacts?  What's the difference and need? (More importantly and sli
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up Paddy Landau 2/10/10 1:39 AM I can't tell you about Facebook, but this is what I've learned about My Contacts and All Contacts. - "My Contacts" are those that you've put in yourself. - "Other Contacts" are those that Google puts in by itself (e.g. people that you reply to). -

Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up smardush 3/2/10 12:40 AM If you change to "Old Version" (bottom of gmail inbox screen), and then go to "contacts" and "groups",  there are two interesting features: the first is that the number of members in a particular group is often more that that of the same group in the
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up apwall 3/2/10 2:08 PM Somewhat related....how do I only show "My Contacts" who are not in a particular Group.  Outlook, Palm OS, and basicallly everything else always has an option to show the Uncategorized.  For Google, it needs to be the Ungrouped. For example, I move
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up Paddy Landau 3/2/10 2:20 PM Yes, I agree. Actually, Google lets you put a contact in one or more groups, or none at all. For this reason, there really needs to be some type of flexible search: "Show me all contacts in both Friends and Colleagues." "Show me all contacts in Fr
Re: all contacts vs. my contacts, clean up ajgs 4/29/10 8:14 AM Paddy, agreed.  Contact search is horrible.  There is no way to search via groups (corrollary is fitler capability based on groups).  Also per field search is not even remote possible.  In fact I don't even know what fields contact search does, other
