Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? dwight.stegall 6/29/09 1:27 AM You cannot do that yet. Wait until extensions come out.
Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? Lord Alexandor 6/29/09 2:58 PM Just so Google knows, this is one of the few things that is preventing me from ever using Chrome. I use FF and I like being able to make a new tab and have the google search page pop up automatically. I'm big on privacy and I don't like having someth
Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? shane.e.rubin 7/1/09 5:35 PM I wish I could find answer to that as well.  I set my homepage to http://google.com and then added the Home icon to the top of Chrome so it's only 2 quick clicks to add a tab and then go to my home page, but I still think that's a weak feature.  Chrome allo

Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? StevePaul 7/15/09 7:32 PM There is a Mouse Gesture you can use to customise your NewTab page ....  If you're on the Dev channel there is an Extesnion, if you're on the Stable/Beta channel there is a User Script  The gesture is called ChromeGestures and you can get it here .
Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? StevePaul 7/16/09 12:46 PM This extension/user script has been seriously updated, see my new post on this forum .... http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=0cc3847f9ee73acc&hl=en Enjoy ;-)
Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? olenholm 9/27/09 12:23 PM what i don't understand is why one would EVER go to the google search page ever again while using Chrome because now one doesn't NEED to.  That's one of the main points of Chrome - the address bar is now ALSO THE GOOGLE SEARCH ENTRY FIELD.
Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? QQFarmer 9/27/09 12:40 PM Yeah I've stopped searching from the Google home page for a long time. IE and FF have fantastic search boxes. Google Chrome's unique "Omnibox" makes it a breeze to search on the web.
Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? vrocks 10/7/09 6:46 PM I cannot believe that Google Chrome lacks the ability to pick my new tab page this far (and long) into development. Had this been a FF issue it would have been dealt with within weeks, not months (going on years?)...
Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? al4short 3/2/10 1:20 PM I have spent all afternoon trying to find out if "New Tab" the home page can be changed (edited) to a name more fitting, now I maybe thick, but is it possible, yes or no, as I do believe this browser is not for me, I know the main objective is to use
Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? bothandeach 3/9/10 6:45 PM I think the chrome people say/ hear the phrase "use the address bar" and they think that's clever.   Cleverness rules in their stupid heads - cleverness rules and you must obey.   I for one, by contrast, want a *separate address bar*, and a customiza

Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? brueck1988 9/10/10 10:11 AM now that google instant is out i've found myself using the google home page again instead of the uni bar....it seems like writing code to enable changing the new tab page would be pretty simple.
Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? nmrJason 2/2/11 12:33 PM pipper's extension works great. It's stupid there is not a built in way to do this.

Re: How do i change the 'new tab" default page? lewl751 2/18/11 5:50 AM As you open Google Chrome you can see a wrench in the upper right of your screen. Click it and click 'Options'. As soon as you click the 'Options' you'll see Home Page then click the Open this page then write the url of your supposed to be home page
