Not really, though you can click on the column header ("Name" in this instance) which will re-order them for you while you have the list open.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this too. I have meeting minutes that are in the format (mm.dd.yy) and I'm having a number of problems. Google docs is placing everything in numerical order up until 9 so it can't read two digit numbers.

@ moeobrien: The easiest way to solve your issue is to pad the single digit numbers. For instance, January 1st 2008 would be (01.01.08). The added zeros will make January (01) come before October (10). A question to you though: How long will you be

This is the exact thing I was looking for when ending up here. Arranging by names is far more useful to me, than the default sorting system in Google Docs. It would be really helpful if Google Docs just remembered it if a use click the Name-column. H

Agreed with uplift. Instead of hoping that this feature will somehow make its way into the Google Docs interface, does anyone know the way to actually submit a formal request for this feature?
